IHM has issued an RFP to solicit proposals from interested and qualified persons to review and update our current Strategic and Financial Planning for Property Managers Manual.

The Institute of Housing Management (IHM) is an incorporated educational body dedicated to promoting and enhancing skills and knowledge of individuals in the private property management industry for over 30 years.

IHM is a symbol of integrity and professionalism in both the private and public property management and municipal administrative sectors.

Earn your Property Management Certificate through our distance education program or by formal instruction at Humber College.  Your educational certification combined with several years of practical experience in property management will lead you to accreditation status with IHM.  Upon granting of accreditation you have earned the privilege of Accredited Member (A.I.H.M.) designation.

Our membership of over 350 prescribes to a Code of Professionalism and Ethical Business Practices and manages and administers various sized rental properties. 

Our strength lays in our membership and networking.  However, with retirement of many of our members in the next few years, certification and accreditation is critical to the success of those entering the property management profession to be our successors in an exciting field.

The IHM Board and Membership has recently launched a major Initiative: 76/26 “A Succession Blueprint for IHM”, with reference to our roots of Incorporation in 1976, 30 years of business excellence to 2006 and 20 years into the future, which will span 50 years of quality education, training, certification and accreditation to its membership.

IHM has developed partnerships with private and public sectors within Ontario municipalities and strengthened links to various sectors such as the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONPHA), Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO), Co-Operative Housing Federation (CHF), Social Housing Service Corp (SHSC) and the First Nations National Housing Managers Association (FNNHMA). 

IHM annual conferences and regional chapter training and educational sessions for members, non-members, and property management organizations provide great opportunities to network with property management professionals.
